Bilstein Leveling Installed!

Recommended Posts

You know you wanted another leveling thread! :jester:

Installed the struts and rear shocks. I gained just over 1/2" more height compared to the CCM kit. I didn't think it was possible to improve the ride of these trucks, but man I am impressed!

There are 4 settings for the spring base, stock through 2.5"

Threw the stock wheels and tires on for winter, my Blizzaks are still on backorder.

**FOR SALE: One GENTLY used CCM Leveling Kit, $70 FedEx'd to your door!**

Pardon the dirty truck and the snowflakes!

In case anybody wondered how much difference there is between a 275/55R20 and a 275/60R20:

Looks good. Seeing that you put the factory 20" wheels and tires back on the truck and showed the comparison between the 275/55/20 and the 60's. It really helps me to think of what I'll be looking at with mine of I do a leveling kit and tires... How much larger a tire can you run now with the Blisten package?

I really think the 33" is going to be it without trimming, but I am not sure. I would love to go to a 275/65 which is a 34.5" but people are saying you cant do it.

I sure wish someone would try with the stock wheels and let us know.

Hey Scott, it will be interesting to see if your "Mystery Clunk" will be gone now. Pretty sure I will be chasing that one again as soon as the cold weather hits on a regular basis.

Looks great, Scott! Welcome to the site.

Now, de-badge that thing!!! Also, we like to use the GMT designations around here rather than OBS, NBS, and NNBS!

Oh, also, try searching next time!!!

Yeah, I need to find your thread on that TSB for the step bars again. I have been meaning to take care of that. I gave up on the dealer visits, it magically disappears when I take it in for that.

Don't waste your time, that was not it. It never made sense anyway, since it is cold-weather dependant.

I suspect body mounts.

I think I have a friend running the 34.5" tires on an 07 suburban... I check and see what it is he is running and see if he'll let me take some pics. I think he did some trimming.

Looks like a real high quality kit. :jester:

What do your CV/tie rod/ball joint angles look like?

And that snow makes me

Dan, it looks fine. 1/2" more, about the same as the Truxxx kits...only cooler

ya know, mine clunks when its cold too. And...since mine is parked only a few blocks from yours in the daytime, when it actually gets COLD out, you should stop by and see if they are the same clunk. Then I can waste a bunch of time at the dealer instead of you and when they fix mine, you can get yours fixed too!

Sounds good, Jared. I will bring it by when it does it. Only seems to act up when the weather is below 15*. Then I drive it in the service bay and it warms up!

Does yours have step bars? That is the area my noise seems to come from, the floor or firewall area possibly.

Mine has no bars. Stock trim, stock suspension. Its been since last year since it clunked, so I hafta wait till its gets cold again and I will remember it vividly. :D

Truck looks good, Scott! :D

Thanks Michael!

FYI this Bilstein set is for 2wd and 4wd and can be set at stock height, it does improve the ride...went through some potholes accidentally yesterday, and was suprised at the difference.
